Hyundai will launch a new India-developed electric SUV in the fourth quarter of 2026, targeting the country's high-volume segment with over 500 km of claimed range, Level 2 ADAS, and the next-generation Pleos infotainment platform, according to CarLelo. The model anchors Hyundai's wider push into one of Asia's fastest-growing EV markets and doubles as an export base for Africa, the Middle East, and beyond.

Hyundai has confirmed the SUV was engineered and localized specifically for India. Reported specifications include a claimed single-charge range above 500 km, Level 2 driver assistance, and the Pleos infotainment system. The company has not yet disclosed the model name, battery capacity, charging speed, or the full ADAS feature list — details expected closer to launch.

Hyundai's 2030 Bet on India

The electric SUV is one piece of a larger product offensive. Hyundai has committed to 26 new models or major updates by 2030 and expects electrified vehicles — including BEVs, hybrids, and extended-range EVs — to reach 60 percent of its global sales by 2030, up from 23 percent in 2025.

On the supply side, India production capacity is targeted to grow by 320,000 units by 2030 against a current base of roughly 1.1 million vehicles annually. Hyundai is targeting 90 percent local sourcing and will continue using India as an export hub for markets across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and South America.

Separately, TopElectricSUV reports Hyundai's 2027 Santa Fe facelift for the U.S. market will introduce Pleos Connect, a cockpit built on Android Automotive with a 9.9-inch digital cluster, a 17-inch touchscreen, and an LLM-based voice assistant called Gleo AI. An extended-range electric powertrain is also planned for the North American Santa Fe, with prototypes already running at Hyundai's Alabama plant.
